afternoon on September 11th, 2001 retired FDNY Firefighter and
independent filmmaker Mike Lennon arrived at the site of the
World Trade Center. After two hellish weeks of digging
for survivors he grabbed his camera and began filming and
interviewing firemen and their families. Eleven months later
Brothers ... on Holy Ground, a documentary about the firemen of
September 11th is completed. It is a film that intimately reveals
the hidden agony and unbridled pride that lies behind firehouse
doors. This is a film that could only have been made by one of
their own. It features narration by veteran New York journalist
Pete Hamill, music from Van Morrison and the Chieftains and an
original score by James Ryan. A portion of the proceeds from the
sale of this video will go towards helping active firemen receive
therapy.
